The Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology has organized an excursion for schoolchildren to the All-Russia Research Institute of Agricultural Biotechnology
As part of the Faculty Day programme, students of the HSE Lyceum and the HSE Distributed Lyceum under the guidance of Natalia Slobodova, Associate Professor of the Faculty of Biology and Biology, visited the All-Russia Research Institute of Agricultural Biotechnology with an excursion at the end of September.
The schoolchildren had an exciting program at the institute, starting with a microscope session where they observed dividing cells and searched for various mitosis stages. Next, Alina Kocheshkova, the head of the Laboratory of Digital Phenotyping, conducted an extensive tour of the Institute’s laboratories, showcasing and explaining the function of exclusive installations that greatly enhance plant growth and development. She also answered all questions from the audience. The children discovered how researchers study plants from molecules to the entire organism.
Agrobiotech is one of the leading sectors for carring out biotechnological innovations. The Faculty prepares professionals capable of implementing them, starting their training from school.
