Research activity


The scientific activity of the faculty is based on the research support and development in priority areas of fundamental and applied nature in the field of cell and molecular biology, molecular physiology, genetics, immunology, oncoimmunology, nanobiotechnology, bioinformatics, etc. Moreover, the faculty focuses on the organic connection between research and practice in the interests of the economy and society development.

The scientific potential of the faculty is represented by the Joint Department of Shemyakin-Ovchinnikov Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry RAS and the International Laboratory of Microphysiological Systems.

The faculty staff, which includes foreign specialists along with leading scientists from the RAS Institutes, participates in the implementation of significant projects, including international ones. The research results have been published in Russian and foreign peer-reviewed journals in the Scopus and Web of Science databases, and testify to the leadership both in Russian science and in the world scientific community. The faculty's cooperation with the world's leading research centers and universities (University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE); Technische Universität Berlin (TU); TissUse GmbH; University of Southern Denmark (SDU)) characterizes the importance of the faculty in the global scientific market.

Scientific activity is an essential part of the educational of the faculty. Under the guidance of RAS scientists, starting from the first year of education students take steps into science in order to leave their significant mark in the future.
