Three projects by students of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology have won the Scientific Initiative competition

The 'Scientific Initiative' competition results were announced on 9 April, with three projects from our faculty’s Bachelor’s and Master’s students receiving support. Two of these were done in collaboration with students from other faculties.

The project ‘Cloning of collagenase gene into a bacterial expression system to optimize the production of an enzyme for anti-scar therapy’.

The project leader is Daria Surkova, 4th year student.

Also participating in the project are Sofya Syrtseva (3rd year), Yaroslava Mikhailenko (2nd year), Elizaveta Ukholkina (2nd year) and Taisiya Ryazanova (1st year).

The next winning project is titled ‘Study of immunomodulatory and antitumor properties of Viscumin lectin’. The project leader is Ivan Antipenko, 1st year Master's student.

Olga Kolodeeva (4th year), Oksana Kolodeeva (4th year), Daria Olkhovik (3rd year), Ivan Semyonov (2nd year) and Vladislav Martishevich (3rd year, Faculty of Economic Sciences) take part in the project.

And the third project - ‘Development of a methodology for the synthesis of a new class of isoindolinones and study of their biological activity’.  Project leader - Danila Lebedev (1st year, Faculty of Chemistry), participants: Polina Suvorova (3rd year, Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology), Alexander Rybin (3rd year, School of Economics and Management, St. Petersburg).
