Anna Shestakova from the laboratory participated in the 12th International Mycological Congress (IMC12)

The Congress was held from 11-15 August 2024 in Maastricht, the Netherlands

The Congress was held for the first time since 2017 and gathered mycologists from all over the world. Anna Shestakova, a graduate of the Cellular and Molecular Biotechnology program and now a member of our laboratory and faculty member, was the only Russian participant.

More than 40 oral and 600 poster presentations were presented at the Congress, one of which was a poster presented by Anna Shestakova. The paper was co-authored by students and teachers of the Faculty - Fatkulin Artem (3rd year), Surkova Darya (4th year), Popova Elizaveta (Associate Professor) and Osmolovsky Alexander (Associate Professor, Best Teacher 2021-2024).

Anna Shestakova shared her impressions: ‘I have been waiting for this conference for about a year and was eager to participate in it. During these 5 days, I met a lot of enthusiastic and dedicated professionals and got an idea of the advanced research in mushroom biology. I am proud to say that the level of our research is on par with the best mycological laboratories in the world’.
