Head of the Laboratory of Molecular Physiology at the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology, E. Knyazev, Participated in the 2024 Off-Site School for Scientific Leaders in Sochi

This project, organized by the Moscow Department of Education and Science with the support of the Center for Pedagogical Excellence and other institutions, includes lectures, workshops, and educational intensives featuring science communicators and leading scientists from across Russia.

The in-person component of the event involved selecting 50 young scientists among candidates who are engaged in scientific research, its promotion, and participation in projects and initiatives of the Moscow Department of Education and Science. Additionally, 950 young scientists participated in the event remotely.

The event's goal is to enhance the exchange of knowledge and experience in organizing and conducting scientific activities and raise the prestige of science among young people. During the in-person meeting in Sochi, a variety of lectures, workshops, and training sessions were held by academicians of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), leading scientists from across the country, representatives of the Moscow Department of Education and Science, and members of major public and private enterprises.

From November 25 to 26, 2024, participants met with the following notable speakers:

• Konstantin A. Zykov, Dr. Med. Sci., Corresponding Member of the RAS, RAS Professor, and Deputy Director for Scientific and Innovation Activities at the Research Institute of Pulmonology, FMBA of Russia.
• Andrey B. Tarasov, Cand. Chem. Sci., Head of the Laboratory of New Materials for Solar Energy at the Faculty of Materials Science, Lomonosov Moscow State University.
• Gleb V. Tarasevich, Chief Editor of the popular science magazine Schrödinger's Cat.
• Anna V. Pavlova, Cand. Chem. Sci., Member of the Coordinating Council on Youth Affairs, Head of a Division at the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Directorate of Scientific and Technical Programs."
• Yulia G. Gorbunova, Dr. Chem. Sci., RAS Academician, RAS Professor, and Dean of the Faculty of Fundamental Physical and Chemical Engineering, Lomonosov Moscow State University.
• Alexander N. Blinov, Deputy Director General of the Russian Science Foundation.

From November 27 to 29, 2024, participants of the Off-Site School for Scientific Leaders participated in the IV Congress of Young Scientists, held at the Sirius Science and Art Park. During the Congress, young scientists met with Alexander G. Mazhuga, Dr. Chem. Sci., RAS Professor, Head of the Laboratory of Tissue-Specific Ligands at the Faculty of Chemistry, Lomonosov Moscow State University, and Deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.
