First Year Students of the Bioeconomy Master's Program Visited the Experimental Biotechnological Manufacture of the Institute of Biochemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences

On October 13, 2022 a visit to the Experimental biotechnological manufacture of the M.M. Shemyakin and Yu.A. Ovchinnikov Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences was organized for the first year students of the Bioeconomy master's program at the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology of the National Research University Higher School of Economics.

As part of the visit, Vasily Stepanenko, head of the Experimental biotechnological manufacture, introduced the students to the history of biotechnological production, its structure, the main stages of the biotechnological process, the main areas of work, as well as examples of successful projects. The students were also shown the main areas, laboratories and equipment, in particular, the Fermentation Department and the Extraction and Purification Unit.
