Tests of the modern 3D FloTrix MicroSpin bioreactor from Cytoniche, designed for the cultivation of adhesive cells using microcarrier technology, have begun at the international Laboratory of Microphysiological Systems
The key advantage of this technology is the high ratio of surface area to volume, which provides a significant increase in the yield of cell mass per unit volume of the medium. Cultivation is carried out under controlled mixing conditions in a bioreactor, which makes this approach one of the most in demand in the production of vaccines, recombinant proteins and in cell therapy tasks. The use of microcarriers also provides flexibility in the process: researchers can precisely adjust the surface available for cell growth by changing the concentration of microcarriers in the system.
The tests of the new bioreactor are aimed at evaluating its effectiveness, reproducibility of results, and potential for use in ongoing laboratory research.
