The introduction of the new equipment enables standardization and a significant acceleration of electrophoresis and immunoblotting procedures. In particular, the automated gel casting system allows for the precise preparation of both gradient gels and gels with fixed acrylamide concentrations, which is essential for obtaining comparable and reproducible experimental results.

In addition, the robotic western blotting station fully automates downstream procedures, including membrane blocking after protein transfer, incubation with primary and secondary antibodies, and all washing steps. This approach not only reduces hands-on time for researchers but also ensures consistent experimental conditions, minimizes the consumption of costly reagents such as antibodies, and increases the reliability of the resulting data. Mastery of this system enables high-throughput screening and the execution of complex automated multi-membrane experiments.
